The Powerful Message of It’s a Wonderful Life It’s a Wonderful Life begins in the â€Å"party economy† of the 1920’s, during the rise of capitalism in America. The growth of economy and rapid technological advances during this post-war period lead to improvements in production and telecommunication, increasing the importance of financial markets. Allowing companies to make money by the sale of shares, financial markets opened ownership of companies to the public. In the 1920’s, when business was booming and many people were making money in the market, the public became very excited about the get-rich-quick opportunities they saw in a market they didn’t necessarily understand. When the ignorant public began throwing their money into the stock market on the unstable basis of margin buying, money in the market became inflated until the market eventually imploded. Numerous people, businesses and banks were financially ruined in the stock market crashes of 1929. Speculating heavily with their deposi ts, many banks were totally wiped out during the crash of 1929, which created a run on the banking system. The crashes, along with other social, political and economic disasters, provoked the Great Depression. The Great Depression is the backdrop for It’s a Wonderful Life, and although the film does not delve deeply into the economics of the depression, it influences and affects every aspect of the movie. The first major impact the depression has on Bedford Falls is the run on the bank. Everyone in town is in a panic because of the market crash, and fearful that they may lose all of their money in the Savings and Loan, the public rushes to the bank in an attempt to retrieve it. Fortunately, the Savings and Loan was not financially ruined i... ... the quality of life change with George’s existence. Nick lives in Potter’s field and works as a bartender in Pottersville. He is a mean and cynical old man. In Bedford Falls, Nick had lived in Bailey Estates and had owned the bar with help from the Savings and Loan. He was a caring family man. The importance of balance of powers within a single community is evident when examining the two scenarios. George Bailey fights on the side of the people in Bedford Falls. He sacrifices himself and his future a number of times in order to raise the standard of living. Keeping the Bailey Savings and Loan in business saves the town from Potter’s monopoly and the subsequent transformation of Bedford Falls. It’s a Wonderful Life is not only a story about one man’s impact on the lives of others, but also a glimpse of how a town can transform under different economic scenarios.

What clues might a manager have that suggest there is a problem with the design of an organization? Is changing an existing organization a different task from designing a brand new structure? In any industry, firm or organization it reaches a point that managers realize that the organizational design and structure are not well composed to help in attaining the firm’s goals and objectives. This realization is not openly visible. This is why managers have to look at various aspects of the organization in order to realize that things are bad. Organizational design refers to the process of structuring a division, department or organization in order to optimize the organizations delivery of goods and or services to customers. There are many clues that are available to managers that help them to decide whether there is something wrong with the organizations design and structure. Among these clues may include: the information derived from clients, partners and or suppliers. In times when managers receive negative feedbacks from these people, they usually know there is something wrong. Managers will also know there is a design problem if there are perennial problems between departments e. g. between the operations and sales department. In addition to this if, there are long lead times in the development of new products and services there is usually a problem in the design system. The issue of inefficiencies and low quality products may also be attributed to the design of the organization. Redesigning an organization is different from designing a new structure. This is because redesigning does not involve the completely organizational structure. In addition to this designing, a new structure involves aspects of changing organizational culture that is not usually the case with changing or redesigning.

Ronald Reagan was our 46th president of the United States and a true hero to many Americans. His strong belief’s helped him become a strong president, who cared for his country and proved it in many ways. For instance, he helped end the cold war and shape the U.S. government. He also helped many immigrants become citizens of the United States. Reagan also became a hero to many citizens by fixing the American economy that wasn’t doing so well after the Great Depression. Ronald Reagan is considered a hero in the U.S and in many parts of the world. Ronald Reagan was born on February 6, 1911, Tampico, Illinois, Ronald was the second son of Jack and Nelle Reagan. He was born in a small apartment above the Pitney General Store but later moved with his family to number of small town so his dad could try to establish his small business. By the 1920 his family settled in Dixon, Illinois, where he grew to adulthood. As a teenager Ronald Regan was very active in after school activities, clubs, and an amazing swimmer. As a life guard in Lowell Park in Dixon on the treacherous Rock River, he saved about 77 people from drowning. He graduated from Dixon High School in 1928 and enrolled the following fall at Eureka College. After he graduated from Eureka in 1932, with a major in economics, he landed a job as a radio sportscaster at WOC in Davenport, Iowa.
